Understanding and Awareness

Ronniel

What it means to be Black? It means there are hurdles placed in society from birth, which we have to overcome daily. It means we have to work harder than the next person to show our worth. It means any night we may get stopped for no reason. It means you may have to rely on the streets to feed your family. It means we have to push our kids to be stronger and smarter.

Being Black means is we have to come together to last longer. What it means is we have to educate our people from young age. What it means is we have to break that cycle, the burden that was placed upon us. What it means is to continue to be a being on this earth, as much as the ant and squirrels. I am not Black. I am a man of melanin but some may look at us as felons. Black is a shade that shall one day fade, all I can be is HUMAN.
