Life after the pandemic was very mundane and it felt like the days were going by fast for me and I remember feeling stuck after losing the job I’ve had for over 4 years & that I wasn’t fully getting back to normal life or making any progress when it came to things like my career, relationships & mental health. I felt a bit lost and unsure of what my next step in life is. At the beginning of the year 2022 after having a lot of time to reflect on everything I’ve done so far & everything I wanted to do but wasn’t able to in past years. I decided face my fears & finally go after my dreams. I decided to get into the film industry and start working while learning & networking and it’s been a blast so far and it’s giving me a great sense of belonging.
Back in 2020 at the height of the pandemic I was apart of a team that worked on a short film with the Film Stars Project and that experience was life changing because it gave me insight on what to expect on set and reassured me & got rid of any doubts in my head about getting in this business. And that program really gave me the confidence to just put my mind to this and do it. I started off as a production assistant learning the ropes, I am now a member of a respected film union & I am working on my 3rd production this year and working my way towards becoming a script supervisor.
Besides my career, life in general has improved for me this year because that sense of fulfilment that I get from doing what I love and having finally found the environment I can thrive in just improves my mood and my health overall and the amount of great people I am meeting on a daily basis that are very interesting people & making more acquaintances with similar interests to mine.
So to sum it all up I’ve really been in a great positive state these past 6 months and I’m learning & growing as a person in every aspect of my life. I am healthy, happy & loved and I’m only looking forward to great things happening for me & around me next year.
